How sad! I just saw in this yahoo news story. Earl Hindman, who played "Wilson" on the tv show Home Improvement died. I watched that show a lot when I was younger, and I still watch the reruns once in a while. That whole thing with Wilson never showing his whole face on the show annoyed me. It was funny I guess the first few episodes but then the joke got old I thought. He was a good actor, I just wish he wasn't always hiding behind that stupid fence!

I just looked up him name on IMDB and I noticed he was in the movie Three Men and a Baby! I have watched that movie many times and I never realized he was in it. According to IMDB his character's name was "Satch."

Hmm... well that's all of the news I have for today & it's not even my news!

Did everyone have a Merry Christmas?

Mine was very good. I stayed up until almost 2:00 AM wrapping presents on Christmas Eve/Christmas morning. I woke up at 7:00, dropped Cory off at his parents house then went to my mom's. Janelle & I sat around in our pajamas, watched tv and movies (including Home Alone and A Christmas Story). My mom woke up, we opened presents and I got the most awesome craft cabinet (thanks mom & Janelle!) for all of my craft/art supplies! YAY! I can't wait to set it up. Finally I will be able to see my dining room table which is currently buried somewhere under about 3 feet of paper, magazines, paint, markers, collage material, envelopes. I also got Dawson's Creek Season 1 on DVD thanks to Cory :) A couple of years ago I somehow found myself sucked into watching that show but I had never seen the first season so it will be cool to see how the show started out.

I am at work right now. I have around 30 coworkers but there are less than 10 of us here today. I work in a fairly large building and the parking lot usually has 100 cars or more in it, but today there are probably less than 30. So needless to say this is a very slow, quiet day. I don't think I will have a bit of work to do, which is fine with me because that means more time I get to spend online!

Well, back to my internet surfing ...... ;)

Ok I think everything is working with this new skin now! *knock on wood* I just need to add some links on the side and then I should be done. Yay. I think I am getting the hang of HTML. The more I play around with it, the more I learn. I think I am one of those people who learns easiest by teaching myself. I did that a lot throughout high school and my one year of college. I would spend a class bored out of my mind and then I would go home and re-read the lessons in my text books and learn to do the work that way, especially with math.

Speaking of school, I am still trying to go back to college. I think I mentioned here a few times before that I was looking into taking classes online through SUNY. I was really trying to get in by this coming semester but I don't think there is anyway to get in all of the financial aid papers and everything before the semester starts so I am going to wait until next fall. I hate waiting that long but overall it just makes the most sense and I will have plenty of time to do all of the financial aid and admissions applications rather than trying to hurry to get it done within a couple of weeks and I will probably be eligible for more financial aid if I apply in the next few months for the fall semester. So, that's my new plan.

I have been so busy with Christmas shopping and making Christmas gifts. I can't say what I made because I know Janelle might read this before she opens her presents from me and a few of her gifts are homemade ones. I will try to take photos of everything I made and post them after Christmas. I really like making stuff. It's a lot more fun than just shopping for gifts and you don't have to deal with crowded malls. Though, I have done plenty of mall/store shopping in the past week or so. Ugh.

Last night we went to Crossgates and I wanted to go to JC Penney which is all the way on one end of the mall but I found a parking space outside of Filene's which is at the exact opposite end of this gigantic mall and the parking lot was so crowded I didn't dare try to venture around the parking lot looking for a closer spot so we had to walk the whole length of the mall which would have been fine had there not been 10 million people there. Agh! Mall rage!

Well, I have tomorrow and Thursday, obviously, off from work. I have to work Friday though. Yuck! So, if I don't get a chance to post again before XMAS I hope you all have a great holiday! :)

Alright...I finally have the comments working...but now I'm not so sure I want to keep this layout. I like it but there are just too many confusing things to deal with - like why is my text red on all of the older posts? It wasn't red before. Maybe I screwed something up when I "fixed" the comments.

Hmm...well... at any rate this might be a short lived template. I might just have to find a new one that's easier for me to deal with. I really need to learn more about HTML. I do have an HTML fo Dummies book. Do you think I ever use it though? Nope!

Ok, I think I have most of the stuff fixed, and I figured out the date/header thingy.

The only think I am getting frustrated with is my comments field. I can't get it to work at all, maybe my comments service is just down right now or something. Agh, well, I'm off to bed so I will try to fix this tomorrow if I get a chance.

CONSTRUCTION GOING ON HERE!!!!!! :)

Finally I am changing my skin, but I am having some technical difficulties & don't have time at the moment to find out how to fix everything.

anyone know how I can change the part that says <$BlogDateHeaderDate$> above each post? It should read the date for each post, but I don't know how to change it. Other than that I just need to add some links & fix little things here & there. Hopefully I will get a chance to do that sometime this weekend.

Well, I'm off to get ready so I can go Christmas shopping. Wish me luck! Hope I don't get any holiday mall shopper rage!

back to the daily grind

This week is going to go by so slow for me! I just had two 4 day weekends in a row, I don't know how I will survive a whole 5 day work week!!

The concert was fun! We got there a bit late so we missed District 21, but the other bands were great! There weren't too many people there either, so when Hoobastank was playing we got up pretty close to the stage. I saw my cousin Stacy there which was strange! I didn't expect to see her there since she lives about 45 minutes to an hour away from Clifton Park where the concert was.

I also saw a kid I went to high school with. That was extemely strange to look over in the middle of Hoobastank playing and see this kid Brian standing next to me. I wasn't positive it was him, even though he doesn't look any different than he did in school, but when the show was over I saw him in the crowd and said hi to him and we talked for a few minutes. I only live about a half hour from the town I grew up in, but I NEVER see any of my old classmates which makes me sad because I miss a lot of my friends from school. :(

I thought I would get a lot done over the weekend, but I didn't. We had a pretty big snowstorm so that didn't help things much. Janelle and I did make chocolate chip cookies but they came out like rocks! They are all hard and crispy but Janelle insisted my dad would like them anyway. We went out to my dad's last night for dinner and gave him the ornaments and cookies, and he seemed to like them. I don't know what was wrong with that cookie recipe though, and I don't think we overcooked them. I will just have to try a different recipe and see if they come out better.

hooba

Cory & I are going to see Hoobastank tonight at Northern Lights! Woohoo! This will be the 2nd time this year that I have seen them play. We also saw them at Big Day Out in Saratoga this summer. Also playing tonight are Die Trying, Sofa Kings (a local band), and District 21 (another local band, I think?). Cory's 25th birthday was on Thanksgiving day - his youngest sister, Megan, gave him two tickets to the "Hooba" show. Yay! :)

Not only am I going to a concert, but Cory & I are also taking tomorrow & Friday off of work! Yahoooo. We knew we wouldn't want to go to work tomorrow after getting home from the concert late tonight (or early tomorrow morning) and we had a few vacation days left to use before the end of the year, so we thought this would be a good time to use them up.

Oh, I never wrote about my Thanksgiving - it was good. I went to my mom's house & had dinner with her & Janelle. That night Janelle & I went to Cory's parent's house and visited there for a while. Then Cory, Janelle & I all went back to our house. Janelle stayed over Thursday & Friday nights because she was helping us clean out our nasty basement which was full of years worth of crap - THANKS FOR ALL OF THE HELP JANELLE! We also worked on some birthday/Christmas presents for my dad. We painted some wooden Christmas ornaments for him. This weekend Janelle is supposed to be coming up to my house again so we can make him either cookies or fudge for his birthday which is coming up next week.

Well, I am boring everyone with details...so I will go for now. I don't know when I will get the chance to post again, depends how busy I am this weekend. So if you don't see any posts just know that I'm baking cookies :)
