Ooops, I didn't post yesterday!

The Yahoo! Pick for today is Dogster. It's such a cool site and the dogs are so cute! I think I will have to put Delilah on there because she is the cutest dog ever :) I will just have to sort through my photos at home and try to find the best one of her, or else I might have to do a little photo shoot with her this weekend. She is a ham, she loves her picture taken.

Almost forgot to post today! Luckily I have 45 minutes of Tuesday left, so I made it just under the wire. Phew!!! :)

Sad thing is, I don't have anything to post again!

I'm just sitting here making mixed cds & drawing. I should be in bed, but I'm not sleepy.

We are supposed to get lots of snow. Yuck.

Well, that's all for now.

Sorry for the lack of exciting stuff to read! I am hoping I will have something more interesting to write tomorrow.

Goodnight all!

Monday, January 26, 2004

Well, I didn't post over the weekend as you can see. And I actually did have the chance to because I was actually online at home a lot this weekend, but I just didn't have anything to write about! And here it is, Monday afternoon and I still don't have anything interesting to write about but here I am writing anyway.

I watched American Wedding this weekend. It was funny, but not as good as the first two American Pie movies. Pretty much the same old jokes, but I did love the beginning - the whole restaurant scene. Too funny!

Check out Premiere Props. They have a ton of movie props listed on Ebay and pretty decent prices too for most of the stuff. I like the Pair of Plastic Figures from American Wedding oh or how about Stifler's shorts - going for only $5.50 at the moment!

Ok, I'm off to search for more props I dream of owning!

Oh no! Captain Kangaroo is dead. That is super sad. I used to watch his show when I was little. Though I think Janelle & I mostly just laughed at it instead of taking it seriously. Such evil girls we were!

Guess what? I did it! Four days in a row of posting in my blog. Yipeee! Someone make me a cake! Ha!

Once again not much new today. Same old, same old - freezing my arse off, sitting at my desk with no work to do, drinking Cherry Coke, cruising around the internet looking for something to entertain me until the work day is over.

Tonight I have to go to the post office to mail some cds to Ireland! Which reminds me - I have to make some covers for those. How exciting. International mail. This will be the first time ever that I have sent something overseas. I used to have a pen pal from Spain when I was younger. I didn't actually mail the letters to her though. We would write our letters, address them and then give them to our teacher who would mail them for us. I wonder what ever happened to Elena! I should try to track her down and mail her a letter out of the blue :)

Yay 3 days in a row of posts!

I couldn't think of much to write about today because my life has been pretty uneventful lately, so I thought I would use todays post to share some cool links:

The Body Bakery ~ Yummy bath stuff. I am afraid I would try to eat it though :)

Salty ~ Very awesome handmade bags, etc. I think this is my favorite of her bags, or maybe this one. I can't decide! I love them all!

Mable's ~ All kinds of cool, funky, retro, weird stuff.

bathtopia ~ Bath & Beauty products galore!

five-and-dime posts ~ Super cute greeting cards, notecards, etc.

Yes, I'm posting again, just as I said I would. Go me! :)

I was thinking about smoothies today. I really want one. I love pina colada smoothies from Orange Julius. They are my favorite.

I don't think I have ever made my own smoothies at home, so I figured I would scrounge around online and see what I could find for smoothie recipes. I really don't like things with banana in them. I like bananas but I hate anything banana flavored.

There are a ton of recipes at RecipeSource. I especially want to try the Papaya Creamsicle Smoothie and the Pineapple Coconut Shake.

This Mango Pineapple Strawberry Smoothie looks awesome too.

Or I could just save myself a trip to the grocery store and buy Nature's Flavors Shake & Smoothie Bases.

While searching for all of these smoothie recipes I came across Pineapple Smoothie on a Stick. Yum! I must have some!!!

Ok, I'm drooling now. Fantasizing about smoothies. I'm crazy!

Uh! Almost another week without posting! I'm horrible.

I have a favorites folder on my computer at work of all of the blogs I read. Most everyday, sometimes more than once per day, I got through and check all of my regular reads. I get all frustrated when there isn't a new post on someone's blog for me to read. But, I am that person! I am the person who's page you go to and frown when you see that ONCE AGAIN I haven't update. I need to get my butt in gear and start being more dedicated, not only to my blog but to everything in my life.

I'm a total procrastinator. I always put things off way longer than they should be. If I can't handle updating an online journal everyday then how can I ever accomplish anything else?

So. My goal is to post in this journal everyday this week at least until Friday! I don't always go online at home on the weekends, but if I do then I will try to post those days too. If you happen to be reading this today and you come back sometime this week and there isn't a new post each day you have my permission to yell at me! :)

Can I do it? Four days or more of posting in a row?!

Wow. It has been almost 2 weeks since I last posted! Yikes!

I'm still freezing my buns off. Well, maybe not freezing them off, if freezing temperatures could actually freeze your buns off then everyone in upstate NY would be walking around with flat-as-a-board-bums right now! It is currently -4° F. This morning it was -12° F and that's not even taking the wind chill factor into account. Eeep!

I was cruising around Yahoo and found this site: Not Fooling Anybody. It's so funny - a showcase of restaurants/stores that were once another more popular restaurtant/store and the looks of the buildings are obviously that of the original store/restaurant. Hmm...doesn't so sound so funny when I type that out - but it is! Or maybe I just think it's funny because I can relate. In my town there is a car dealership that was at one time, quite obviously, a Pizza Hut. Ha!

I have been pretty busy this week and haven't had much to write about anyway so I haven't updated lately. We didn't go to the wake on Sunday night (long story!), but we heard from one of Cory's friends that there was about a two & a half hour wait to get into the funeral home and there were over 1000 people there! Wow!

Other than that not much new is going on. It has been SO COLD here lately. I forgot to bring my gloves with me to work today. I hope it doesn't snow, because it won't be very fun scraping ice and snow off my windshield with my no gloves! Actually, I think it might be too cold to snow. The weather for the next few days looks horrible. The high temp. for tomorrow is 9 degrees I think!!! Yuck!

I wish I was in Hawaii! (Pt - can I come live with you??!!) ;)

2004 has started out to be a pretty sad year so far. Last night I was sitting at the computer and Cory was watching the local news on tv in the other room. I heard him yell "OH MY GOD!" so I ran to see what was wrong. He just heard this story on the news. The kid who was shot & killed by police was a former coworker of Cory's. They weren't close friends, but he knew him fairly well and he had just gone back to do some temp work part time at his former workplace a few weeks ago & he was working directly with Dave.

I had never met him, but I heard a lot of stories about him from Cory and Chris (one of Cory's friends who worked with both of them, and still works for that company). I guess for a while Dave was really sick and I think he had to go through all kinds of surgery, but as far as I know his health had improved.

I can't believe this happend. I shouldn't be shocked though. The police around the Albany area are known for their corrupt behavior. I have heard too many news stories about cops "accidentally" shooting someone, or shooting someone who they "believed to be armed" when it turns out they weren't. I know police officers have a tough, stressful and dangerous job to do, but that's the job they chose to do. If they can't remain calm and level headed they shouldn't be police officers. They are meant to help, to protect, to serve, not put people in danger.

The Albany police are probably all on high alert because one of their men was shot recently as you can read in this article. So I am willing to bet that those officers are in a panic, wondering if they will be the next to be shot or killed in the line of duty, and instead of putting the people they are supposed to be protecting first, they are putting their own safety as top priority and in the mean time killing innocent bystanders. Many of the cops around here are like the officers you see in tv, the "bad cops." I wouldn't put it past them to be out for revenge because of their fellow officer being shot. I am sure they are plenty of good police officers out in the world, but in the Albany area you will be hard pressed to find one.

An innocent 24 year old kid is dead because of a police officer who was too jumpy with his gun. That's disgusting. The officers responsible for this will walk away with nothing more than a slap on the wrist, if even that I am sure.
