Check out ShopOdd. Some of their t-shirts are hilarious. Not bad for $14.99.

I think I need this one and definitely this one too because, you know, we really need to get the word out on potato violence. Please save the potatoes!

Last night I came home from work to find that Delilah chewed a razor!!!!!! She gnawed her way right through the plastic surrounding some of Cory's razors that he just bought the other day, so they were sitting on a table in the living room. She managed to get one of the razors out and chewed it to pieces, she actually even bent the blades and there are four of them! She is one lucky dog because she appears to be fine. I didn't see any cuts in her mouth, and all of the blades were still there so thankfully she didn't swallow them. She is usually very well behaved and rarely chews anything that she isn't supposed to, but I think she was restless yesterday because Cory is in Poughkeepsie overnight for work and usually he is home about an hour or more before me, so she was home alone longer than usual. Agh.

I had to scan the proof of the mangled mess my little trouble maker made ....

Mangled razor pic #1 - sorry the scan is bad but you can see in the bottom left corner where she comped the plastic case and somehow got one of the razors out.

Mangled razor pic #2 - here you can see where she munched on one of the actual razor heads. Notice the 4 bent blades. Yikes! I'm so glad she didn't swallow them. That was a close call.

And here is a photo of the little monster dog herself! She looks kind of scary in this pic, she really isn't ferocious, but this pic just seems to go along with the story!

Yeah, so I failed last week with the posting everyday from Monday to Friday thing, but I really was insanely busy because one of my coworkers has been out on jury duty for the past two weeks. I had to stay late at work a lot last week because we had so much to do. I usually leave work at 5:00 but on Friday I was here until 6:45. Oy! :(

So this weekend I once again didn't accomplish much. Throughout the weekend we watched the first 3 dvds of Smallville: Season 1 which were the movies that arrived from Netflix on Friday. On Saturday night at around 6:30 we were just sitting there, bored of course, and I said "we should go gamble." Cory thought it was a good idea, even though we really don't have "extra" money to spare, but it was something to do and I am naive, so I always think I'm going to leave the casino with some winnings! Ha! So we called Cory's sister Cheryl and asked her if she wanted to go with us. She decided she would, so we met up at 7:45 and then hopped on the Thruway. The casino is somewhere between 1.5 to 2 hours away, so we got there sometime between 9:30 and 10:00.

I used $40 to play slots with (video slot machines - not the cool old style kind where you actually use coins) and Cheryl used $30. Cory didn't want to play slots so he bought $50 in chips to play roulette. We were there until 12:30 and left there with no money. Between us we gambled away $120. Eeek. Could have been worse, but I was really hoping to win SOMETHING for once. At one point I was down to about $18 and I won $40 at once on one of the games! I really should have stopped then because I would have at least gone home with an extra $18 plus my original $40, but this wasn't long after we got there and I was stupid and thought that it would be boring to quit so soon after getting there. What I should have done was taken my little money card to the cashier and asked them to give me the $40 in cash back and leave the $18 on the card so I could play with that. Stupid me. Ah well. We don't gamble very often so I really shouldn't feel too bad.

Ok, so I blew it. I didn't post yesterday and I almost missed posting today. Ooops! I wasn't being lazy though, really - I really was busy at work yesterday and today. I probably could have snuck in a post at some point, but I would have been rushed.

So does anyone else watch American Idol? Usually I don't get hooked on reality type shows, but I got hooked on American Idol, especially this season. The last few AIs I just watched a few episodes here and there. I have only missed one or two shows this season though. I missed the one where John Peter Lewis was sent home. I was sad to hear that he was the one to go. I really liked him. I thought he was a lot more fun and interesting than the other singers, even though his voice wasn't as good I still would have liked to see him win. My next favorite is Jasmine. I know most people were outraged at last nights bottom three. I was shocked, but I have to admit I was actually really happy to see Jennifer go home because I just didn't like her. She seemed arrogant, and she was way too over the top and loud. I know most people would disagree, but I'm happy I don't have to hear her voice anymore, and I almost never liked any of the songs she chose anyway.

I am guessing that it's going to be Latoya who will win the contest. But, guess we'll see as the next few weeks go by.

Well, I guess that's all I have for now. Hopefully I won't be too busy tomorrow to post. Goodnight :)

I almost didn't get a chance to post today. But, hooray, here I am!

Cory & I signed up for a free trial at Netflix last week. Our first 3 movies arrived on Saturday (I think we joined on Thursday morning). It's cool getting DVDs in the mail. And it's great not having to deal with going to the video store, which is usually crowded and has a poor selection of movies.

One of the movies we rented was Schindler's List. I had never seen it, which is surprising because I am actually really interested in the Holocaust, as strange as that may seem. I have read quite a few books (fiction and non) about the subject and seen several movies, but not Schindler's List. It was a good, but sad movie of course as most everyone knows.

Cory told me yesterday that he was looking at his calendar at work and it said that Sunday (the 18th) was Holocaust Remembrance Day, which is the same day we unknowingly watched Schindler's List. How odd is that?

Ok, once again work is pretty busy so I don't have tons of time for a long post, but check this out:

SubservientChicken

Someone posted that link in the forums on another website. It's freaky. Just type a command in and the chicken will do whatever you say, usually. I told him to "disco" and he did some crazy dance that was more like breakdancing. Then I told him to do cartwheels and push-ups, which he also did. Then I told him that he needed a break and should have a snack, but he didn't do anything, guess he wasn't hungry. Ha!

Oh look I'm updating for the 2nd day in a row! Yay me!

But..

I'm super crazy busy today at work so I don't have time to write anything good, except for the fact that I'm here, and I'm updating like I said I would but since I'm not actually updating anything except the fact that I said I would update does this even qualify as a post for today? Phew. Crazy.

Ok... back to work I go!

Have a good weekend!

If you (yes, YOU!) are actually still reading this drivel you must be a really sweet person. This year I have been so bad about updating and I feel bad that people, who are so nice to check out my blog in the first place, keep coming back to find that I once again I haven't updated. I am really going to put more effort into this blog. I know I can't promise I will update everyday, and I am sure there will be times that I will go a week without posting again but I'm going to try my hardest to post as often as I can, though I probably still won't blog on weekends because I usually don't get online much at home. Most of my blogging is done from work. This will be good for me. Hopefully challenging myself to post everyday, or almost everyday at least, will teach me to be more dedicated and not slack off as much.

So what have I been up to in the past week?

Last saturday: Cory & I hopped in the car and drove out Route 2 into western Massachusetts just for something to do. I realized I really had to pee as we were in the middle of nowhere - somewhere in a very rural area on a winding part of the road that goes through the Berkshire Mountains. I thought I might never find a populated area. Eeeek! So I was so relieved when I noticed signs for Williamstown. We drove through the town but I didn't notice anything big, like a grocery store, where I could use the bathroom. Williamstown did look very cute & interesting though and I wanted to stop and look around but my bladder would never have gone for that, so I kept driving because I then saw signs for another town up ahead. I knew I would find a place to stop in North Adams, and I was correct. I found a grocery store. Yay! So then I thought about turning around and exploring Williamstown, but then I decided to drive a little farther up the road. I went in circles around North Adams because we were hungry and thought we could find somewhere decent there to eat. The streets were kind of confusing and there didn't seem to be any parking spaces. I really wanted to visit Mass MoCA, but I decided not to and kept driving once again. We ventured down Rt. 8. I had no idea where I was going but I kept driving anyway. We finally ended up in Pittsfield, which I don't know much about so we went east, a couple of towns over to the town of Lee, which I'm a little more familiar with. We ate lunch at stupid Friendly's and then went to the outlets for a while. We went into a kitchen store outlet where I bought a box of 3 different sized whisks. Oooh what fun. I looked in the baby stores for a gift for our friend's baby, but couldn't find anything. After a while we decided to go home. And that was that. About 3+ hours in the car for crappy Friendly's food, and some whisks! Still, it was a fun day.

Sunday: Easter. Went to my mom's house. My sister & I watched Duplex on DVD, and a few episodes of Wonderfalls that I had taped. We pigged out on candy from "the easter bunny." My mom always gives us mega huge Easter baskets. :) She also gave me about $30 worth of scratch off tickets, but I only won about $10 :( Then we had yummy dinner that my mom made. Turkey & gravy, mashed potatoes, broccoli & cheese sauce, cranberry sauce and rolls with butter. Yummm. We also watched a few episodes of Queer Eye. That show cracks me up.

Monday - Wednesday: Same old, same old work stuff. Boring.

Today: Cory had to go to Poughkeepsie for work and has to spend the night so I'm all alone tonight. It's weird having the house to myself. He found out that he has to do this staying over night thing every week for the next 6 weeks. So looks like I'm going to have one night to myself every week for a while. Hopefully I will do something productive, like clean my house once & for all.

Oy! Why do I get so lazy about updating this blog?

The past week or so has been pretty uneventful, and I have been a little bit busy with work, so I guess those are my excuses.

Now that the weather is nicer maybe I will start taking my cheapo digital camera out so I can take pictures to post here. Maybe photos will add a little excitement to this place.

I haven't been using the new blender as much as I thought I would, but I have had Carnation Instant Breakfast chocolate shakes a few times. I have found a few recipes I want to try out, I just need to gather all of the ingredients for them.

Hmm... what else has been going on around here? Oh, I finally finished my taxes and my financial aid application. I am hoping I qualify for a decent amount of aid because I don't want to have to deal with more loans, but I guess a loan is better than nothing. At least it will help me get through college and finish once and for all.

College seems to be the topic of conversation everywhere I go. Cory's youngest sister, Megan, is graduating from high school this year and she just found out she was accepted to SUNY Buffalo (yay Megan!!) and my sister, Janelle, is graduating from high school next year so I have been talking to her a lot about college. It's possible she might go to SUNY New Paltz to major in Geology, or at least I have nudged her in that direction. ;) We might go check out the campus sometime soon when the weather is warmer. Oh and also, Cory's other sister, Cheryl, who happens to be one of my very best friends is also planning to go back to school next semester. She has almost completed her Associates in Graphic Design. So yes, seems like everyone I know is going to school or will be soon, which is good because it makes me feel a little less stressed and worried about the whole situation. It's nice to know that other people close to me are also dealing with colleges and financial aid and all of that hoopla.

Well........ that's enough rambling for now and hopefully I won't slack off again. I will try to make another post soon and not let another week and a half go by!
